About

For those who don’t know us, we are huge music fans. We will listen to any type of music, from the hard rock/metal to pop, classical, and jazz. We think that there is a gaping hole in the whole online music scene, specifically in the area of emerging artists. It is extremely difficult to find great new bands/music without going to websites like myspace or pure volume and searching through 42 bands to find 1 or 2 you actually enjoy.   This is where we come in.  We do all the work for you, spending our time and effort finding the local and small market gems so that you don’t have to.

We are very passionate about helping bands get the attention they rightly deserve. The small unknown artists are the future of the music community that we all love dearly. Our goal is promote these bands onto the international scene, while at the same time making new music easy to find for fans.

We are not here to bash any bands music so we only review music we truly enjoy listening to. If we get an album that we don’t enjoy you don’t have to worry that we are going to write a scathing review that hurts your chances of being successful, we simply won’t review it. We will however be critical of elements of an enjoyable album that we believe should be improved.

We love it when bands contact us, and we will gladly review your album if we enjoy it. It makes our day when a band sends us a message asking us to listen to their new masterpiece. If you are interested in us reviewing your new album, please fill out the submission form at http://emurg.com/contact/submission/.

We use a 1-5 star rating system here, but keep in mind we said that if we truly don’t enjoy an album we don’t review it. If your band gets a 2-3 star rating it isnt because your music is terrible, it means that you are definitely a cut above the rest of the bands out there because we actually wrote about it in the first place. That being said, you will not see many low ratings on Emurg because we hand select every album that appears in our review section.  You may be asking “Then why do you use a rating system at all?”  First, we believe in giving constructive criticism, even on an excellent album.  Secondly, we know that bands with great albums like to post links from their websites saying “check out our 5 star review at Emurg!”
