Dead Season

Heavy metal rockers Dead Season hail from Oxford, Maine and are here to give us a heavy dose of aggression, brutality, passion, and inspiration. This unsigned band has managed to become one of the top selling bands in Maine and has toured with bands such as Disturbed, Papa Roach, Killswitch Engage, and Hatebreed, just to name a few. Brothers Matt and Ian Truman formed the band in 2003 and by 2004 they released their first EP Down Again. The following year they released another EP titled The Fight, and in 2004 and 2005 they won a local radio station’s contest for band of the year, launching their music into heavy rotation. Drummer Andy Hackett joined Dead Season in 2006 and they created their first full length album Rise. The band won the battle of the bands contest for the third year in a row and were forced to retire from the competition afterwards.
Dead Season’s lineup was finally completed in 2007 when bassist Steve Church joined. They released their second album When Everything’s Lost in May of 2008. The band combines the melodic with all things heavy and aggressive. Their songs pack a serious punch and When Everything’s Lost is an album that should be in any metal head’s playlist. The band released their third full length album, Life Death, in September 2009. The album may not offer as much cutthroat brutality as their last, but their dedication and focus make up for it well.
