Age of Daze – Hollywood Ending

Age of Daze is a hard rock band based out of Canada. Ok enough of the normal shit, Age of Daze is a rock powerhouse based out of Canada. This CD came out in like 2007 but I am just now beginning to hear about them on the radio, talk about taking some time to get the word out, I guess that is why you do NOT live in Canada.

For being a band that I have never heard of until now and for this CD coming out in 2007 its very surprising. Even though this album has only 8 tracks on it, they are all pretty good songs, it really boggles my mind that nobody has heard of these guys. These guys really haven’t developed any kind of new sound, its pretty much your standard hard rock fare, some catchy choruses and hooks. Anyways, on to the music, its straight up rock without the “eh”. “Afflicted” is one of those sex-fueled, radio friendly, rock anthem-type songs that everybody loves as soon as they hear it, great tune, good beat, ok lyrics. “Change Everything” is another radio friendly rock anthem, good beat, good lyrics, catchy chorus. This is probably the next single off this album. “Thought You Should Know” is another catchy tune, good beat again, and pretty good lyrics along with it. The final track on this album is an acoustic version of “Believe.” This is actually my favorite song on this album, I always love a good acoustic cover of a harder song.

The only major issue with these guys is that alot of their songs all sound the same, good beat, good lyrics but they all seem to start and stop the same. This is not a bad CD at all, I just wish they would vary it up a little more.
